A German Bitcoin miner company, locksmiths and a kidnapping

Recently, a new company appeared on the German bitcoin scene. It's called YesMiners and claims to offer 10 TH/s and 20 TH/s miners.
Of course they take preorders and of course they want the money upfront via bank transfer or Bitcoin, both of which are non-reversible. There are also no photographs of ... anything, really. They have a sexy Photoshop of how a miner could theoretically look like, though.
So far, it looks like a run-of-the-mill scam. It becomes more interesting when you look at the owner of the company, one Volker Studier.
The name is linked to a company called Schlossheld GbR. The company is now called Schlossheld GmbH i.G., which looks like they re-formed an unlimited partnership into a limited-liability company - which would be a normal process. However, while Schlossheld purports to be a consumer advocate, it lost a lawsuit against a locksmith.
Their business model was simple: They called up locksmiths and asked them to submit to a test - which the locksmiths would have to pay for. If the locksmiths refused, they put them up on a website claiming they were "black sheep" and "not to be recommended". Classic extortion.
Now, it gets even better. According to the YesMiners imprint, the company responsible is one PYC Pylon Consulting GmbH. On their website, they link back to YesMiners, as well as some vague text about what they do.
Digging deeper, a "V. Studier" is the CEO of a Pylon Quality Management GmbH & Co. KG which has a similar logo and the same address. On their "Persons" page, they list a Volker Studier born in 1964. The very exhaustive "About" page claims they do "any kind of troubleshooting".
Now, there's an article from January 7th, 1999 floating around about the kidnapping of a millionaire's son for ransom. It contains the sentence
Das Hamburger Landgericht verhängte am Mittwoch acht Jahre Gefängnis gegen den 34 Jahre alten Angeklagten Volker Studier, der seinen damaligen Bekannten Janssen im Juni 1998 in die Falle gelockt hatte.
which translates to:
The Hamburg district court sentenced defendant Volker Studier, 34 years old, to eight years in prison. He lured his acquaintance Janssen [the guy who got kidnapped] into the trap in June 1998.
Did you do the math? 1999 (the year from which the article is from) minus 34 is 1965. Since the article is from January 7th, he likely did not have his birthday already, which would mean this Volker Studier's birthyear would be 1964.
Is this proof of anything? Of course not. Maybe it's a coincidence, or maybe it's identity theft. But I think it's interesting enough to warrant a post.

A week ago I came here because my innocent, little pizza site was hit by a DDoS attack. Now I know, I wasn't the only victim and in fact it was a former bitcoin miner botnet that was "upgraded" to doing DDoS attacks. The Targets? German Pizza delivery services and real estate sites, for some reason.

German State Bank forecasts BTC price of 90,000 USD

German State Bank forecasts BTC price of 90,000 USD

Megatrend Digitization - Is Bitcoin Gold outstripping the rank?

In the study, the two banks strike an unusually positive tone towards Bitcoin. The study uses the above-mentioned stock-to-flow model to analyse the value of Bitcoin.
According to the investigations of the Research Department of Bayern LB, Bitcoin currently has a stock-to-flow value of 25.8. This increases abruptly to 53 after the halving in May 2020. This is due to the fact that the block rewards for miners are halved from the current 12.5 to 6.25 at the event which takes place every 4 years. This will also halve the supply of new Bitcoin (Flow), making each Bitcoin all the more valuable on paper.
Extract from the content:
To check the plausibility of the estimate results, we also deduct the market capitalizations and stock to flow ratios of gold, silver, platinum and palladium. The sources here are the classical publications in which stocks and production quantities are reported. In particular, we are faced with the question of which is the appropriate number for the respective production. In order to keep the data mining process simple, we consider only mine production as production, i.e. the process that "uses the Earth", i.e. adding a new raw material to the economic cycle. Bitcoin is gold close on its heels...

Logarithmic scales, x-axis: stock to flow values, y-axis: market capitalization in USD (billions)
The most exciting thing, of course, is looking to the future. That's how Bitcoin's Stock to Flow-value in May 2020 - i.e. after the next halving: From currently approx. On the other hand, Gold's stock to flow value of currently around 58 will rise from 25.8 to almost 53 in May 2020. are only marginally higher, if at all. If you take this May value for Bitcoins Stock to Flow in the model feeds, comes a dizzying price of about 90,000 USD per Bitcoin*. Accordingly, in the current price of around 8,000 USD, the the pending halving effect is hardly priced in (the current model value is approx. 7,500 USD).\*
Conclusion: Bitcoin has been designed to be even harder than gold.

Round up of Cryptocurrency News #3 Week 20/07 - 26/07

Pssst! Hey you. Scroll down for commentary!
Special Mentions:
You haven't had enough news? Here is some more:
You made it! :)
First up, SORRY! This has been a late post, I have my reasons don't question them (if you must know I'll be posting in the discord - one time only haha). Secondly, I am sure you can agree with me when I say "Wow!" What an incredible week it has been. Last week I thought it was going to take a couple more weeks for more moving price action when it had only taken a few days which has seen Bitcoin reach and pass the $10,000 region. We have also seen the total Market cap for cryptocurrencies increase from about 280B to over 300B (308B at time of writing) within just a few days. A huge injection of liquidity, about 40B, into the market and just to name a few of the best rises in the top 20 (on Coinmarketcap.com), the price of ETH BTC ADA have given good performances/positive responses (With this I will start adding screenshots at the end of each week for timestamp purposes).
This may be a combination from Binance, Mastercard, Paypal, Grayscale investments, VISA AND the DEFI sector. Let me explain... Last week we read about Binance integrating with the company Swipe (SXP) to issue there own debit card expanding the use and reach of cryptocurrency to 31 countries within Europe. Binance's Q2 scheduled token burn of $60.5 Million, this figure correlates with its exchange, margin and futures trading platforms where approximately 20% of profits get burned to increase the price of BNB token (careful as the price has been steady after the burn).
This week we find out Mastercard's expansion into the Cryptosphere as they expand and integrate with the Wirex team to issue a Mastercard-backed Bitcoin debit card, thus further extending the reach of cryptocurrency availability internationally.
"The cryptocurrency market continues to mature and Mastercard is driving it forward, creating safe and secure experiences for consumers and businesses in today’s digital economy " "...Our work with Wirex and the wider crypto ecosystem is accelerating innovation and empowering consumers with more choice in the way they pay"
Mastercard is also reaching out to other emerging cryptocurrency firms to apply to become principal members [Partners] with Mastercard as they have relaxed their digital assets program and look to expand into the Digital Assets and Blockchain environment.
Paypals expression of interest in cryptocurrency facilitiation may bear fruits as it is said Paypal has partnered up with stablecoin operator Paxos (who is already in partnership with Revolut in the US) to facilitate trading through a cryptocurrency brokerage which will enable other firms to integrate cryptocurrency trading functionalities with them. In my opinion this looks much more promising than the Libra association they pulled out from last October as regulations.
Grayscale Investments clears regulatory hurdle as they have been given the green light for its Bitcoin Cash Trust (BCHG) and Litecoin Trust (LTCN) to be quoted in over-the-counter (OTC) markets by US Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
“The Trusts are open-ended trusts sponsored by Grayscale and are intended to enable exposure to the price movement of the Trusts’ underlying assets through a traditional investment vehicle, avoiding the challenges of buying, storing, and safekeeping digital Bitcoin Cash or Litecoin directly.”
More green lights for Cryptocurrency in the US as regulators allow banks to provide cryptocurrency custody services (which may go further than just custody services). A little bit strange as it seems unnecessary and undermines one of the key factors and uses of cryptocurrency which is to be in complete control of your own finances... On another outlook this may be bullish as it allows US banks to provide banking services directly to lawful cryptocurrency businesses and show support for Bitcoin.
Visa shows support stating they have a roadmap for their further expansion into the Crypto sphere. Already working with Crypto platform Coinbase and Fold they have stated they recognise the role of digital assets in the future of money. To be frank, it appears to be focused on stable coins, cost effectiveness and transaction speeds. However they are expanding their support for crypto assets.
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, DeFI! Our very own growing section in crypto. Just like the 2017 ICO boom we are seeing exorbitant growth and FOMO into the Decentralised Finance sector (WBTC, Stablecoins, Yield farming, DEXs etc). The amount of active addresses on Ethereum has doubled but with the FOMO on their network have sky rocketed their fees! Large use-cases of stable coins such as USDT ($6B in circulation using ERC-20 standard), DAI, TUSD, and PAX. $114M Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC) on their network acts as a fluid side chain for Bitcoin and DEX trade volume has touched $1.6B this month. With all this action happening on Ethereum I saw the 24HR volume surpass BTC briefly on Worldcoinindex.com
In other news, Bitcoin has been set as a new precedent in a US federal court in a case against Larry Dean Harmon, the operator of an underground trading platform Helix. Bitcoin has now legally been ruled as a form of money.
“After examination of the relevant statutes, case law, and other sources, the Court concludes that bitcoin is money under the MTA and that Helix, as described in the indictment, was an `unlicensed money transmitting business´ under applicable federal law.”
Quick news in China/Asia as floods threaten miners and the most dominant ASIC Bitcoin mining rig manufacturer Bitmain loses 10,000 Antminers worth millions alledgedly goes missing or "illegally transfered" with ongoing leadership dispute between cofounders.
Last but not least, Cardano (ADA) upgrade Shelley is ready to launch! Hardfork is initiated as final countdown clock is switched on. At time of writing the point of no return has been reached, stress tests done and confirmation Hardfork is coming 29/07 The Shelley Mainnet upgrade is a step toward fast, capable and decentralised crypto that can serve billions of people. With the Shelley Mainnet is ADA staking rewards and pools! Here is a chance for us Gravychainers to set up a small pool of our own. Small percentage of profits going into the development of the community, and you keep the rest!
If you read all of my ramblings thanks heaps! I appreciate it! I have added an extra piece of reading called speculation. Most you can speculate on by just reading the headline some others have more depth to them.
Another post next week for a weekly round up! Where do you think the market is going? What is in your portfolio? Let us know in the Gravychain Discord Channel

Dr Seuss collectables on the blockchain HECK YEAH! and Bitcoin enters NASCAR, remember when Doge did this? it was like when Doge was trending on TikTok.
... Oh yeah did I also mention Steve Wozniak is suing Youtube, Google over rampant Bitcoin scams. Wait, what? Sydney based law firm JPB Liberty is suing Google, Facebook and Twitter for up to $300B. Just another day in the Cryptosphere.

Epic Cash AMA Recap with CryptoDiffer Community

CryptoDiffer team Hello, everyone! We are glad to meet here: Max Freeman (@maxfreeman4), Project Lead at Epic Cash Yoga Dude (@Yogadude), PR&Marketing at Epic Cash Xenolink (@Xenolink), Advisor at Epic Cash
Max Freeman Project Lead at Epic Cash Thanks Max, we are excited to be here!
Yoga Dude PR&Marketing at Epic Cash Hello Everyone! Thank you for having us here!
Xenolink Advisor at Epic Cash Thank you to the CryptoDiffer team and CryptoDiffer community for hosting us!
CryptoDiffer team Let`s start from the first introduction question: Q1: Can you introduce yourself to the community? What is your background and how did you join Epic Cash?
Yoga Dude PR&Marketing at Epic Cash
Hello! My background is Marketing and Business Development, I’ve been in crypto since 2011 started with Bitcoin, then Monero in 2014, Ethereum in 2015 and at some point Doge for fun and profit. I joined Epic Cash team in September 2019 handling PR and Marketing.
I saw in Epic Cash what was missing in my previous cryptos — things that were missing in Bitcoin and Monero especially.
Xenolink Advisor at Epic Cash
Hello Cryptodiffer Community, I am not an original co-founder nor am I a developer for the Epic Cash project. I am however a community member that is involved in helping scale this project to higher levels. One of the many beauties of Epic Cash is that every single member in the community has the opportunity to be part of EPIC’s team, it can be from development all the way to content producing. Epic Cash is a community driven project. The true Core Team of Epic Cash is our community. I believe a community that is the Core Team is truly powerful. EPIC Cash has one of the freshest and strongest communities I have seen in quite a while. Which is one of the reasons why I became involved in this project. Epic displayed some of the most self community produced content I have seen in a project. I’m actually a doctor of medicine but in terms of my experience in crypto, I have been involved in the industry since 2012 beginning with mining Litecoin. Since then I have been doing deep dive analysis on different projects, investing, and building a network in crypto that I will utilize to help connect and scale Epic in every way I can. To give some credit to those people in my network that have been a part of helping give Epic exposure, I would like to give a special thanks to u/Tetsugan and u/Saurabhblr. Tetsugan has been doing a lot of work for the Japanese community to penetrate the Japanese market, and Japan has already developed a growing interest in Epic. Daku Sarabh the owner and creator of Crypto Daku Robinhooders, I would like to thank him and his community for giving us one of our first large AMA’s, which he has supported our project early and given us a free AMA. Many more to thank but can’t be disclosed. Also thank you to all the Epic Community leaders, developers, and Content producers!
Max Freeman Project Lead at Epic Cash
I’m Max Freeman, which stands for “Maximum Freedom for Mankind”. I started working on the ideas that would become Epic in 2018. I fell in love with Bitcoin in 2017 but realized that it needs privacy at the base layer, fungibility, better scalability in order to go to the next level.
CryptoDiffer team
Really interesting backgrounds I must admit, pleasure to see the team that clearly has one vision of the project by being completely decentralized:)
Q2: Can you briefly describe what is Epic Cash in 3–5 sentences? What technology stands behind Epic Cash and why it’s better than the existing one?
Max Freeman Project Lead at Epic Cash
I’d like to highlight the differences between Epic and the two highest-valued privacy coin projects, Monero and Zcash. XMR has always-on privacy like Epic does, but at a cost: Its blockchain is over 20x more data intensive than Epic, which limits its possibilities for scalability. Epic’s blockchain is small and light enough to run a full node on cell phones, something that is in our product road map. ZEC by comparison can’t run on low end devices because of its zero knowledge based approach, and only 1% of transactions are fully private. Epic is simply newer, more advanced technology than prior networks thanks to Mimblewimble
We will also add more algorithms to widen the range of hardware that can participate in mining. For example, cell phones and tablets based around ARM chips. Millions of people can mine Epic that can’t mine Bitcoin, and that will help grow the network rapidly.
There are some great short videos on our YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQBFfksJlM97rgrplLRwNUg/videos
that explain why we believe we have created something truly special here.
Our core architecture derives from Grin, so we are fortunate to benefit on an ongoing basis from their considerable development efforts. We are focused on making our currency truly usable and widely available, beyond a store of value and becoming a true medium of exchange.
Yoga Dude PR&Marketing at Epic Cash
Well we all have our views, but in a nutshell, we offer things that were missing in the previous cryptos. We have sound fiscal emission schedule matching Bitcoin, but we are vastly more private and faster. Our blockchain is lighter than Bitcoin or Monero and our tech is more scalable. Also, we are unique in that we are mineable with CPUs and GPUs as well as ASICs, giving the broadest population the ability to mine Epic Cash. Plus, you can’t forget FUNGIBILITY 🙂 we are big on that — since you can’t have true privacy without fungibility.
Also, please understand, we have HUGE respect to all the cryptos that came before us, we learned a lot from them, and thanks to their mistakes we evolved.
Xenolink Advisor at Epic Cash
To add on, what also makes Epic Cash unique is the ability to decentralize the mining using a tri-algo model of Random X (CPU), Progpow (GPU), and Cuckoo (ASIC) for an ability to do hybrid mining. I believe this is an issue we can see today in Bitcoin having centralized mining and the average user has a costly barrier of entry.
To follow up on this one in my opinion one of the things we adopted that we have seen success for , in example Bitcoin and Monero, is a strong community driven coin. I believe having a community driven coin will provide a more organic atmosphere especially when starting with No ICO, or Premine with a fair distribution model for everyone.
CryptoDiffer team
Q3: What are the major milestones Epic Cash has achieved so far? Maybe you can share with us some exciting plans for future weeks/months?
Yoga Dude PR&Marketing at Epic Cash
Since we went live in September of 2019, we attracted a very large community of users, miners, investors and contributors from across the world. Epic Cash is a very international project with white papers translated into over 30 languages. We are very much a community driven project; this is very evident from our content and the amount of translations in our white papers and in our social media content.
We are constantly working on improving our usability, security and privacy, as well as getting our message and philosophy out into the world to achieve mass adoption. We have a lot of exciting plans for our project, the plan is to make Epic Cash into something that is More than Money.
You can tell I am the Marketing guy since my message is less about the actual tech and more about the usability and use cases for Epic Cash, I think our Team and Community have a great mix of technical, practical, social and fiscal experiences. Since we opened our YouTube channels content for community submissions, we have seen our content translated into Spanish, French, German, Polish, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, Russian, and other languages
Max Freeman Project Lead at Epic Cash
Our future development roadmap will be published soon and includes 4 tracks:
Core Protocol
Ecosystem Development
Core Protocol
Epic Server 2.9.0 — this release improves the difficulty adjustment and is aimed at making block emission closer to the target 60 seconds, particularly reducing the incidence of extremely short and long blocks — Status: In Development (Testing) Anticipated Release: June 2020
Epic Server 3.0.0 — this completes the rebase to Grin 3.0.0 and serves as the prerequisite to some important functional building blocks for the future of the ecosystem. Specifically, sending via Tor (which eliminates the need to open ports), proof of payment (useful for certain dex applications e.g. Bisq), and our native mobile app. Status: In Development (Testing) Anticipated Release: Fall 2020
Non-Interactive Transactions — this will enhance usability by enabling “fire and forget” send-to-address functionality that users are accustomed to from most cryptocurrencies. Status: Drawing Board Anticipated Release: n/a
Scaling Options — when blocks start becoming full, how will we increase capacity? Two obvious options are increasing the block size, as well as a Lightning Network-style Layer 2 structure. Status: Drawing Board Anticipated Release: n/a
Confidential Assets — Similar to Raven, Tari, and Beam, the ability to create independently tradable assets that ride on the Epic Blockchain. Status: Drawing Board Anticipated Release: n/a
GUI Wallet 2.0 — Restore from seed words and various usability enhancements — Status: Needs Assessment Anticipated Release: Fall 2020
Mobile App — Native mobile experience for iOS and Android. Status: In Development (Testing) Anticipated Release: Winter 2020
Telegram Integration — Anonymous payments over the Telegram network, bot functionality for groups. Status: Drawing Board Anticipated Release: n/a
RandomX on ARM — Our 4th PoW algorithm, this will enable tablets, cell phones, and low power devices such as Raspberry Pi to participate in mining. Status: Needs Assessment Anticipated Release: n/a
The economics of mining Epic are extremely compelling for countries that have free or extremely cheap electricity, since anyone with an ordinary PC can mine. Individual people around the world can simply run the miner and earn meaningful money (imagine Venezuela for example), something that has not been possible since the very early days of Bitcoin.
Ecosystem Development
Atomic Swaps — Connecting Epic to other blockchains in a trustless way, starting with ETH so that Epic can trade on DeFi infrastructure such as Uniswap, Kyber, etc. Status: Drawing Board Anticipated Release: n/a
Xenolink Advisor at Epic Cash
From the Community aspect, we have been further developing our community international reach. We have been seeing an increase in interest from South America, China, Russia, Japan, Italy, and the Philippines. We are working on targeting more countries. We truly aim to be a decentralized project that is open to everyone worldwide.
CryptoDiffer team
Great, thank you for your answers, we now can move to community questions part!
Cryptodiffer Community
You have 3 mining algorithms, the question is: how do they not compete with each other? Is there any benefit of mining on the GPU and CPU if someone is mining on the ASIC?
Max Freeman Project Lead at Epic Cash
The block selection is deterministic, so that every 100 blocks, 60% are for RandomX (CPU), 38% for ProgPow (GPU), and 2% for Cuckoo (ASIC) — the policy is flexible so that we can have as many algorithms with any percentages we want. The goal is to make the most decentralized and resilient network possible, and with that in mind we are excited to work on enabling tablets and cell phones to mine, since that opens it up to millions of people that otherwise can’t take part.

To Run a project smoothly, Funding is very important, From where does the Funding/revenue come from?
Xenolink Advisor at Epic Cash
Yes, early on this was realized and in order to scale a project funds are indeed needed. Epic Cash did not start with any funding and no ICO and was organically genesis mined with no pre-mine. Epic cash is also a nonprofit community driven project similar to Monero. There is no profit-driven entity in the picture. To overcome the revenue issue Epic Cash setup a development fund tax that decreases 1% every year until 2028 when Epic Cash reaches singularity with Bitcoin emissions. Currently it is at 7.77%. This will help support the scaling of the project.

Hi! In your experience working also with MONERO can you please clarify which are those identified problems that EPIC CASH aims to develop and resolve? What’s the main advantage that EPIC CASH has over MONERO? Thank you!
Yoga Dude PR&Marketing at Epic Cash
First, I must admit that I am still a huge fan and HODLer of Monero. That said:
✅ our blockchain is MUCH lighter than Monero’s
✅ our transaction processing speed is much faster
✅ our address-less blockchain is more private
✅ Epic Cash can be mined with CPU (RandomX) GPU (ProgPow) and Cuckoo, whereas Monero migrated to RandomX and currently only mineable with CPU

  1. the feature ‘Cut Through’ deletes old data, how is it decided which data will be deletes, and what are the consequences of it for the platform and therefore the users?
  2. On your website I see links to download Epic wallet and mining software for Linux,Windows and MacOs, I am a user of android, is there a version for me, or does it have a release date?
Max Freeman Project Lead at Epic Cash
  1. This is one of the most exciting features of Mimblewimble, which is its extraordinary ability to compress blockchain data. In Bitcoin, the entire history of a coin must be replayed every time it is spent, and comprehensive details are permanently stored in the blockchain. Epic discards spent transaction inputs and consolidates outputs, storing neither addresses or amounts, only a tiny kernel to allow sender and receiver to prove their transaction.
  2. The Vitex mobile app is great for today, and we have a native mobile app for iOS and Android in the works as well.

$EPIC Have total Supply of 21,000,000 EPIC , is there any burning plan? Or Buyback program to maintain $EPIC price in the future?
Who is Epic Biggest competitors?
And what’s makes epic better than competitors?
Xenolink Advisor at Epic Cash
We respect the older generation coins like Bitcoin. But we have learned that the supply economics of Bitcoin is very sound. Until today we can witness how the Bitcoin is being adopted institutionally and by retail. We match the 21 million BTC supply economics because it is an inelastic fixed model which makes the long-term economics very sound. To have an elastic model of burning tokens or printing tokens will not have a solid economic future. Take for example the USD which is an inflating supply. In terms of competitors we look at everyone in crypto with respect and also learn from everyone. If we had to compare to other Mimblewimble tech coins, Grin is an inelastic forever inflating supply which in the long term is not sound economics. Beam however is an inelastic model but is formed as a corporation. The fair distribution is not there because of the permanent revenue model setup for them. Epic Cash a non-profit development tax fund model for scaling purposes that will disappear by 2028’s singularity.

What your plans in place for global expansion, are you focusing on only market at this time? Or focus on building and developing or getting customers and users, or partnerships?
Yoga Dude PR&Marketing at Epic Cash
Since we are a community project, we have many developers, in addition to the core team.
Our plans for Global expansion are simple — we have advocates in different regions addressing their audiences in their native languages. We are growing organically, by explaining our ideology and usability. The idea is to grow beyond needing a fiat bridge for crypto use, but to rather replace fiat with our borderless, private and fungible crypto so people can use it to get goods and services without using banks.
We are not limiting ourselves to one particular demographic — Epic Cash is a valid solution for the gamers, investors, techie and non techie people, and the unbanked.

EPIC confidential coin! Did you have any problems with the regulators? And there will be no problems with listing on centralized exchanges?
Xenolink Advisor at Epic Cash
In terms of structure, we are carefully set up to minimize these concerns. Without a company or investors in the picture, and having raised no funds, there is little scope to attack in terms of securities laws. Bitcoin and Ethereum are widely acknowledged as acceptable, and we follow in their well-established footprints in that respect. Centralized exchanges already trade other privacy coins, so we don’t see this as much of an issue either. In general, decentralized p2p exchange options are more interesting than today’s centralized platforms. They are more censorship resistant, secure, and privacy-protecting. As the technology gets better, they should continue to gain market share and that’s why we’re proud to be partnered with Vitex, whose exchange and mobile app work very well.
Cryptodiffer Community
What are the main utility and real-life usage of the #EPIC As an investor, why should we invest in the #EPIC project as a long-term investment?
Max Freeman Project Lead at Epic Cash
Because our blockchain is so light (only 1.16gb currently, and grows very slowly) it is naturally well suited to become a decentralized mobile money standard because people can run a full node on their phone, guaranteeing the security of their funds. Scalability in Bitcoin requires complicated and compromised workarounds such as Lightning Network and light clients, and these problems are solved in Epic.
With our forthcoming Mobile Mining app, hundreds of millions of cell phones and tablets will be able to easily join the network. People can quickly and cheaply send money to one another, fulfilling the long-envisioned promise of P2P electronic cash.
As an investor, it’s important to ask a few key questions. Bitcoin Standard tokenomics of disinflation and a fixed supply are well proven over a decade now. We follow this model exactly, with a permanently synchronized supply from 2028, and 4 emission halvings from now until then, with our first one in about two weeks. Beyond that, we can apply some simple logical tests. What is more valuable, money that can only be used in some cases (censorable Bitcoin based on a lack of fungibility) or money that can be used universally? (fungible Epic based on always-on privacy by default). Epic is also poised to be a more decentralized and therefore resilient network because of wider participation in mining. Epic is designed to be Bitcoin++ Privacy, Fungibility, Scalability
Cryptodiffer Community
Q1. What are advantages for choosing three mining algorithms RandomX+, ProgPow and CuckAToo31+ ?
Q2. Beam and Grin use MimbleWimble protocol, so what are difference for Epic? All of you will be friends for partners or competitors?
Max Freeman Project Lead at Epic Cash
RandomX and ProgPow are designed to use the entirety of a CPU / GPU’s unique processing capabilities in a way that other types of hardware don’t work as well. You can run RandomX on a GPU but it doesn’t work nearly as well as a much cheaper CPU, for example. Cuckoo is a “memory hard” algorithm that widens the range of companies that can produce the hardware.
Grin and Beam are great projects and we’ve learned a lot from them. We inherited our first codebase from Grin’s excellent Rust design, which is a better language for community participation than C++ that Beam currently uses.
Functionally, Mimblewimble is similar across the 3 coins, with standard Confidential Transactions, CoinJoin, Dandelion++, Schnorr Signatures and other advanced features. Grin is primarily ASIC-targeted, Beam is GPU-targeted, and Epic is multi-hardware.
The biggest differences though are in tokenomics and project structure. Grin has permanent inflation of 60 coins per block with no halvings, which means steady erosion of value over time due to new supply pressure. It also lacks a steady funding model, making future development in jeopardy, particularly as the per coin price falls. Beam has a for-profit model with heavy early inflation and a high developer tax. Epic builds on the strengths of these earlier mimblewimble projects and addresses the parts that could be improved.
Cryptodiffer Community Some privacy coin has scalability issues! How Epic cash will solve scalability issues? Why you choose randomX consensus algorithem?
Xenolink Advisor at Epic Cash
Fungibility means that you can’t distinguish one unit of currency from another, in example Gold. Fungibility has recently become a hot issue as people have been noticing Bitcoins being locked up by exchanges which may of had a nefarious history which are called Tainted Coins. In example coins that have been involved in a hack, darknet market transactions, or even processing coin through a mixer. Today we can already see freshly mined Bitcoins being sold at a premium price to avoid the fungibility problem Bitcoin carries today. Bitcoin can be tracked by chainalysis and is not a fungible cryptocurrency. One of the features that Epic has is privacy with added fungibility, because of Mimblewimble technology, Epic has no addresses recorded and therefore nothing can be tracked by chainalysis. Below I provide a link of an example of what the lack of fungibility is resulting in today with Bitcoin. One of the reasons why we chose the Random X algo. is because of the easy barrier of entry and also to further decentralize the mining. Random X algo can be mined on old computers or laptops. We also have 2 other algos Progpow (GPU), and Cuckoo (ASIC) to create a wider decentralization of mining methods for Epic.

I’m a newbie in crypto and blockchain so how will Epic Cash team target and educate people who don’t know about blockchain and crypto?
What is the uniqueness of Epic Cash that cannot be found in other project that´s been released so far ?
Yoga Dude Pr&Marketing at Epic Cash
Actually, while we have our white paper translated into over 30 languages, we are more focused on explaining our uses and advantages rather than cold specs. Our tech is solid, but we not get hung up on pure tech talk which most casual users do not need to or care to understand. As long as our fundamentals and tech are secure and user friendly our primary goal is to educate about use cases and market potential.
The uniqueness of Epic Cash is its amalgamation of “whats good” in other cryptos. We use Mimblewimble for privacy and anonymity. Our blockchain is much lighter than our competitors. We are the only Mimblewimble crypto to use a unique cocktail of mining algorithms allowing to be mined by casual miners with gaming rigs and laptops, while remaining friendly to GPU and CPU farmers.
The “uniqueness” is learning from the mistakes of those who came before us, we evolved and learned, which is why our privacy is better, we are faster, we are fungible, we offer diverse mining and so on. We are the best blend — thats powerful and unique

Can you share EPIC’s vision for decentralized finance (DEFI)? What features do EPIC have to support DEFI?
Yoga Dude PR&Marketing at Epic Cash
We view Epic as ideally suited to be the decentralized digital reserve asset of the new Private Internet of Money that’s emerging. At a technology level, atomic swaps can be created to build liquidity bridges so that wrapped Epic tokens (like WBTC, WETH) can trade on other networks as ERC20, BEP2, NEP5, VIP180, Algorand and so on. There is more Bitcoin value locked on Ethereum than in Lightning Network, so we will similarly integrate Epic so that it can trade on networks such as Uniswap, Kyber, and so on.
Longer term, if there is market demand for it, thanks to Scriptless Script functionality our blockchain has, we can build “Confidential Assets” (which Raven, Tari, and Beam are all also working on) that enable people to create tokenized assets in a private way.

If you could choose one celebrity to promote Epic-cash, who that would be?
Max Freeman Project Lead at Epic Cash
I am a firm believer that the strength of the project lies in allowing community members to become their own celebrities, if their content is good enough the community will propel them to celebrity status. Organic celebrities with small but loyal following are vastly more beneficial than big name professional shills with inflated but non caring audiences.
I remember the early days of Apple when an enthusiastic dude named Guy Kawasaki became Apple Evangelist, he was literally going around stores that sold Apple and visited user groups and Evangelized his belief in Apple. This guy became a Legend and helped Apple become what it is today.

How does $EPIC solve scalability of transactions? Current blockchains face issues with scalability a lot, how does $EPIC creates a solution to it?
Xenolink Advisor at Epic Cash
Epic Cash is utilizing Mimblewimble technology. Besides the privacy & fungibility aspect of the tech. There is the scalability features of it. It is implemented into Epic by transaction cut-through. Which means it allows nodes to remove all intermediate transactions, thus significantly reducing the blockchain size without affecting its validation. Mimblewimble also does not use addresses like a BTC address, and amount of transactions are also not recorded. One problem Monero and Bitcoin are facing now is scalability. It is evident today that data is getting more expensive and that will be a problem in the long run for those coins. Epic is 90% lighter and more scalable compared to Monero and Bitcoin.
Cryptodiffer Community
what are the ways that Epic Cash generates profits/revenue to maintain your project and what is its revenue model ? How can it make benefit win-win to both invester and your project ?
Max Freeman Project Lead at Epic Cash
There is a block subsidy of 7.77% that declines 1.11% per year until 0, where it stays after that. As a nonprofit community effort, this extremely modest amount goes much further than in other projects, which often take 20, 30, even 50+ % of the coin supply. We believe that this ongoing funding model best aligns the long term incentives for all participants and balances the compromises between the ends of the centralized/decentralized spectrum of choices that any project must make.

Q2 : What are your plans to expand and gain more adoption?
Yoga Dude Pr&Marketing at Epic Cash
Max already talked about our technical plans and goals in his roadmap. Allow me to talk more about the non technical 😁
We are aiming for broader reach in the non technical more mainstream community — this is a big challenge but we believe it is doable. By offering simpler ways to mine Epic Cash (with smart phones for example), and by doing more education we will achieve the holy grail of crypto — moving past the fiat bridges and getting Epic Cash to be accepted as means of payment for goods and services. We will accomplish this by working with regional advocacy groups, community interaction, off-line promotional activities and diverse social media targeting.

It seems to me that EpicCash will have its first Halving, right? Why a halving so soon?
Is a mobile version feasible?
Max Freeman Project Lead at Epic Cash
Our supply emission catches up to that of Bitcoin’s first 19 years after 8 years in Epic, so that requires more frequent halvings. Today’s block emission is 16, next up are 8, 4, 2, and then finally 0.15625. After that, the supply of Epic and that of BTC stay synchronized until maxing out at 21m coins in 2140.
Today we have a mobile wallet through the Vitex app, a native mobile wallet coming, and are working on mobile mining.
Cryptodiffer Community
What markets will you add after that?
Yoga Dude PR&Marketing at Epic Cash
Well, we are aiming to have ALL markets
Epic Cash in its final iteration will be usable by everyone everywhere regardless of their technical expertise. We are not limiting ourselves to the technocrats, one of our main goals is to help the billions of unbanked. We want everyone to be able to mine, buy, and most of all USE Epic Cash — gamers, farmers, soccer moms, students, retirees, everyone really — even bankers (well once we defeat the banking industry)
We will continue building on the multilingual diversity of our global community adding support and advocacy groups in more countries in more languages.
Epic Cash is More than Money and its for Everyone.

Almost, all cryptocurrencies are decentralized & no-one knows who owns that cryptocurrencies ! then also, why Privacy is needed? hats the advantages of Private coins?
Max Freeman Project Lead at Epic Cash
With a public transparent blockchain such as Bitcoin, you are permanently posting a detailed history of your money movements open for anyone to see (not just legitimate authorities, either!) — It would be considered crazy to post your credit card or bank statements to Twitter, but that’s what is happening every time you send a transaction that is not private. This excellent video from community contributor Spencer Lambert https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0blbfmvCq\_4 explains better than I can.
Privacy is not just for criminals, it’s for everyone. Do you want your landlord to increase the rent when he sees that you get a raise? Your insurance company to raise your healthcare costs because they see you buying too much ice cream? If you’re a business, do you want your employees to see how much money their coworkers make? Do you want your competitors to trace your supplier and customer relationships? Of course not. By privacy being default for everyone, cryptocurrency can be used in a much wider range of situations without unacceptable compromises.

What are the main utility and real-life usage of the #EPIC As an investor, why should we invest in the #EPIC project as a long-term investment?
Xenolink Advisor at Epic Cash
Epic Cash can be used as a Private and Fungible store of value, medium of exchange, and unit of account. As Epic Cash grows and becomes adopted it can be compared to how Bitcoin and Monero is used and adopted as well. As Epic is adopted by the masses, it can be accepted as a medium of exchange for store owners and as fungible payments without the worry of having money that is tainted. Epic Cash as a store of value may be a good long term aspect of investment to consider. Epic Cash carries an inelastic fixed supply economic model of 21 million coins. There will be 5 halvings which this month of June will be our first halving of epic. From a block reward of 16 Epic reduced to 8. If we look at BTC’s price action and history of their halvings it has been proven and show that there has been an increase in value due to the scarcity and from halvings a reduction of # of BTC’s mined per block. An inelastic supply model like Bitcoin provides proof of the circulating supply compared to the total supply by the history of it’s Price action which is evident in long term charts since the birth of Bitcoin. EPIC Plans to have 5 halvings before the year 2028 to match the emissions of Bitcoin which we call the singularity event. Below is a chart displaying our halvings model approaching singularity. Once bitcoin and cryptocurrency becomes adopted mainstream, the fungibility problem will be more noticed by the general public. Privacy coins and the features of fungibility/scalability will most likely be sought over. Right now a majority of people believe that all cryptocurrency is fungible. However, that is not true. We can already see Chainalysis confirming that they can trace and track and even for other well-known privacy coins today such as Z-Cash.

Native speakers from our community are working to raise awareness in key markets such as mining in Argentina and Venezuela for Spanish (Roberto Navarro called Epic “the holy grail of cryptocurrency” and Ethiopia and certain North African countries that have the lowest electricity costs in the world. Yoga Dude PR&Marketing at Epic Cash
We will definitely continue to work on research and coding, with emphasis on improved accessibility (especially via smartphones) usability, security and privacy.
In terms of financial infrastructure will continuing to add exchanges both KYC and non KYC.
Big part of our plans is in ongoing Marketing and PR outreach. The idea is to make Epic Cash a viral sensation of sorts. If we can get Epic Cash adopters to spread the word and tell their family, coworkers and friends about Epic Cash — there will be no stopping us and to help that happen we have a growing army of content creators, and supporters.
Everyone with skin in the game gets the benefit of advancing the cause.

I was watching some videos explaining how to send and receive transactions in EpicCash, which consists of ports and sending links, my question is why this is so, which, for now, looks complex?
Let’s talk about the economic model, can EpicCash comply with the concept of value reserve?
Max Freeman Project Lead at Epic Cash
In V3, which is coming later this summer, Epic can be sent over Tor, which eliminates this issue of port opening, even though using tools like ngrok.io, it’s not necessarily as painful as directly configuring the router ports. Early Lightning Network had this issue as well and it’s something we have a plan to address via research into non-interactive transactions. “Fire and Forget” payments to an address, as people are used to in Bitcoin, is coming to Epic and we’re excited to develop functionality that other advanced mimblewimble coins don’t yet have. We are committed to constant improvement in usability and utility, to make our money system the ease of use leader.
We are involved in the project (anyone can join the Freeman Family) because we believe that simply by choosing to use a form of money that better aligns with our ideals, that we can make a positive change in the world. Some of my thoughts about how I got involved are here: https://medium.com/epic-cash/the-freeman-family-e3b9c3b3f166

Huge thanks to our friends Maks and Vladyslav, we welcome everyone to come say hi at one of our friendly communities. It is extremely early in this journey, our market cap is only 0.5m right now, whereas the 3 other mimblewimble coins are at $20m, $30m and $100m respectively. Epic is a historic opportunity to follow in the footsteps of legends such as Bitcoin and Monero, and we hope to become the first Top 5 privacy coin project.

Jewish Holocaust - What bitcoiners should learn from it.

Hi all, please read until the end before downvote this post and spill out your hate to Israel and paranoia from jews.
I know that some of you think that the jewish holocaust receives far more publicity in comparison to other historical atrocities and genocides, just because many rich old jews donate to this cause, and others use it to extend their business/political connections. I don't want this to become another endless discussion about Israel, Zionism, atrocities made by high ranked jews in the USSR, the Rothschild family, the affiliation of the military-industrial complex to Israel or about the palestinians. There are plenty of those on reddit, I'm sure you can find them yourself.
It's the holocaust memorial day here in Israel, and it made me think about this crazy thought:

If Bitcoin is the new gold, then you may be the new jews.

When Bitcoin reaches another "bubble cycle", bigger than ever before, at first everybody will praise you for your intelligence and your business skill. They will ask you for financial advices, and rush to buy Bitcoin believing the price will only go up. But as we all know, every Bitcoin cycle ends with a downturn, and then things will get ugly.
It will begin by authorities around the world making lists of bitcoin owners, like the IRS is doing, and those lists will leak to the internet, followed by some public figures smearing: "Those sociopath bitcoin freaks don't deserve privacy". As the economy will get worsen and unemployment will rise (think of all the gig jobs that may be lost when we switch away from inflationary economy to a deflationary economy), some new socialist party will be formed. It could be a national socialist party or a globalist socialist party, their main idea is that the law should treat people as groups instead of individuals, and that due to the emergency state and historical injustice, wealth should be redistributed (which doesn't sound too surreal in our Covid19 era, ha?). They may even say that a blockchain currency is a great idea, but it's simply unfair that early bitcoin adopters accumulated most of it, and try to create a new "socialist altcoin" that will fail miserably.
They will then attack foreign bitcoin users, like the nazis vilified the "Ostjuden". People who may be bitcoin users like you, but you don't have a common nationality or language with them, like "Chinese bitcoin miners", or "Russian members of the 21M club". They will be blamed for manipulating the economy, for international schemes to take over the world, for enslaving the working class, for cultural degeneration, drug trade and satanist rituals. This hateful propaganda will be backed by banks and corporations, and the PC media will love it - unlike other communities, the bitcoin community does not have an army of lobbyists and lawyers to fight back in the legal field.
Many of you will think this is only a specific attack on foreign bitcoin users. Others may even be influenced by the propaganda and try to appease the bullies by handing their bitcoin. This won't help, once your name appears in their lists, they will always accuse you of hiding more bitcoin from them.
When the party will take the government seat (with or without elections), they will go first for the academic elite, calling for "numerus nullus" against any student or professor that ever developed or owned bitcoin. Many no-coiners will be promoted and benefit from this, and will keep their mouth shut despite their opinions against the party. Snitches will be rewarded for telling on bitcoiners that somehow were missed from the lists. Even some former bitcoin owners, who gave away all their bitcoin trying to appease the party, will participate in the atrocities against bitcoiners, in a pathetic attempt to "atone their sin" and save themselves.
The atmosphere of revolution, of building a new just world from the ashes of the economic collapse, will actually improve the economy for no-coiners at first and give create jobs, but sooner or later this house of cards will collapse, and the only way for the party to sustain its power is to start a war.

I love Andreas Antonopoulos' lectures and have heard him mentioning that he is a pacifist. However, history is rarely written by the pacifists, and many of its chapters were written by the aggressors. In his greek homeland there used to be an ancient community of over 78k jews - around 80% of them were murdered by the german invaders, and although some greeks attempted to hide and protect their jewish fellows, this did not happen too often.
Do you think your no-coiner neighbour will let you hide in his basement?

I hope I'm wrong and just being crazy and paranoid, but if I'm right, I hope to meet you guys in the land of Zion the citadel.

"Those who don't learn from the past are condemned to repeat it." - George Santayana

... Now you can write your anti-Israel comment. Just don't expect me to answer, I'm too tired for this.

TKEYSPACE 1.2.1 — large-scale update on iOS

TKEYSPACE 1.2.1 — large-scale update on iOS

Meet a major update in TKEYSPACE. We were debugging the engine, so to speak-modified the Tkeycoin Engine. This is a really powerful update — large scale code-level improvements and new features.
Someone may think that an application is just ten lines of code, but an expert who thinks this is wrong.
TkeySpace is a combination of many libraries, support for C++, Java), Kotlin), Swift), Objective-C, cryptography and blockchain, and a combination of best practices with new technologies. To ensure the operation of many supported blockchains, the team has done a great job to ensure that you already use the most secure multi-currency wallet TkeySpace.

For iOS development, we use the stack: C++, Swift, Objective-C. For Android development: C++, Java, Kotlin. Cryptography and blockchain parameters are applied on both platforms.
When creating TkeySpace, we primarily looked at security, decentralization, and convenience. TkeySpace is a strong programming code inside and a light intuitive interface outside.
TkeySpace eliminates hacker attacks, hacks, and sanctions from third parties, ensuring the comfortable use of your assets.
Remember that using the so-called “blockchain wallets”, of which there are a lot on the market — you risk losing funds. There are only a few truly working applications on the blockchain, which distinguishes the technical uniqueness of TkeySpace from other wallets. How TkeySpace works, we told you in the review: TKEYSPACE is a blockchain on your mobile.

What updates are available in TkeySpace 1.2.1 on iOS

Localization in the AppStore in 8 languages

Now the TkeySpace page in the AppStore is available in 8 languages: Russian, German, English, Spanish, French, Korean, Turkish, and Chinese.

Update on the code level

A large-scale work was done at the code level-optimization, interaction with libraries, new functions, and fixed errors that occurred during the wallet operation.

Fixed a local error displaying incorrect synchronization status, which affected the sending of transactions and interaction with blockchains.
The synchronization process has been completely fixed, and now the connection to the nodes is running correctly.
Node addresses are added to the local storage, and instant synchronization with nodes occurs when you log in again.

Due to the correction of the synchronization process, errors that could occur when sending transactions have been fixed.
Added a synchronization check before sending transactions, now the wallet checks for synchronization with the network before performing any operation with digital currencies. If syncing isn’t set to 100% yet, then TkeySpace won’t let you send the transaction.

Enhanced validation of transactions and blocks in the network

Enhanced validation of the algorithm for consensus of Tkeycoin and other cryptocurrencies is enabled. This increases the security of the network, as well as speeds up the work of the TkeySpace blockchain node, the application consumes even fewer resources than before. High complexity is converted to 3 bytes, which ensures fast code processing and the least resource consumption on your device.

Checking “ Double spending”

TkeySpace now eliminates “double spending” in blockchains, which is very valuable in the Bitcoin and Litecoin networks. Your funds are safe and protected from fraudulent transactions in the form of “fake” transactions.

The bloom filter to check for nodes

All nodes are checked through the bloom filter. This allows you to exclude fraudulent nodes that try to connect to the network as real nodes of a particular blockchain.

Fixed a zero-byte decoding error that could cause the “mining reward” to not display in TkeySpace. Now all miners can extract currencies Tkeycoin, DASH, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin, Ethereum directly to Addresses from the TkeySpace app, which is very convenient, and most importantly, safe and always at hand.

The increased privacy of transaction

Implemented deterministic lexicographic sorting using hashes of previous transactions and output indexes for sorting transaction input data, as well as values and scriptPubKeys for sorting transaction output data.
The new transaction model makes it harder to identify certain wallets and increases privacy by using smart contracts.

Improvements at the TkeySpace interface level:

Upgraded currency rates

Now you can get detailed market statistics, both for 1 day and for several years. Statistics are available for periods: 1 day, 7 days, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years. Statistics on volumes are available for both 1 hour and 24 hours.

In the market data section, there is a section with current news of the cryptocurrency market.

Function — to hide the balance

On the main screen of the TkeySpace app, you can completely hide your balance. Tap on the Balance, it will be automatically hidden from the main screen. This feature allows you to further enhance your privacy.

New currency

  • Added Litecoin (LTC) cryptocurrency;
  • Added 9 new tokens: Huobi Token (HT), KuCoin Shares (KCS), Golem (GNT), Ankr Network (ANKR), EOSDT, OmiseGO (OMG), Prospectors Gold (PGL), Pundi X (NPXS), NEXO.

To upgrade to the TkeySpace version-1.2.1 — we recommend completely reinstalling the TkeySpace app:

PCHAIN & Gate.io AMA Summary

PCHAIN & Gate.io AMA Summary

Glad to have a great AMA with Gate.io on Feb.13th, 2020. Read patiently and you will get more known about PCHAIN and the future of PCHAIN.
For the AMA in Chinese, welcome to visit: https://www.gate.io/help/livetext/17312
Gate.io: Very happy to invite Dr. Jeff, founder of PCHAIN as our guest today!
Dr Jeff: I am very happy to receive an exclusive interview with Gate.io to share and exchange some things about the development of PCHAIN with you.
Gate.io: Dr Jeff, you were engaged in Internet finance in 2017. Why did you want to do PCHAIN as a public chain?
Dr Jeff: The development path of the Internet is that applications are king. You can see that many good Internet companies are doing applications. The blockchain is the next generation Internet. At that time, considering applications was a very good place to stay, and the best direction. It is the financial sector. At the time, I was the chief scientist of Internet finance at IBM and the head of the blockchain. At the time of 2015 and 2016, Ethereum was also very early. But after completing the application discovery, I found that the underlying technology is not enough. All applications need a good public chain as the basic support. It is in line with the stable development law and it is gradual, so I decided to do this underlying building block. In addition, many functions of Ethereum have been criticized, such as performance. Many public chains 2.0 and 3.0 have emerged to solve the performance problem-TPS, and we have also made many innovations. From TPS, interoperability, cross-chain to application direction by 2020, changes are very fast. Of course, we have also achieved very good results on TPS: Under the 1064 intercontinental (Asia, Europe, America) node environment, it can support 256 childchains to produce blocks in parallel and interoperate with the main chain without issue. The test network measured 126,000 TPS, theoretical TPS is 180,000 TPS, and can be infinitely expanded horizontally. This is not difficult from a technical perspective in the local area network, but it is difficult to achieve it in a transcontinental environment. This is a very good foundation, and we will develop applications in the future.
Gate.io: Users ask: How do you think of the progress made in PCHAIN and how do you think of Private CCC?
Dr Jeff: This is what I want to talk about in this AMA. One direction is DeFi, including Staking. In addition to these two directions, more opportunities from the applications in the industry. In terms of industry opportunities, we have a pioneering layout, which is to propose a new concept: commercial childchain, Private CCC. Because the domestic regulatory environment is difficult to achieve large-scale direct public chain applications in China, everyone expects the form of alliance chains. However, the alliance chain has limited imagination space, produces results in a small scope, and the communication link between the alliance chain and the public chain does not exist. It is equivalent to setting up many small local area networks, but now everyone is directly connected to the Internet. We did a multi-chain commercial childchain architecture at the time, including 256 childchains in parallel worldwide, also to verify the scalability and technical stability of this architecture. A question of mutual trust. How to trust it? Through the interaction between the main chain and the childchain, the information on the childchain is continuously updated to the main chain. When an alliance chain wants to know the information of its alliance chain, it can fully trust the information recorded on the main chain in history. This will surely link everyone together and is in line with China’s policies. This is a very important logic that we propose for the commercial childchain. It is a consideration and design oriented to supervision and future-oriented.
Gate.io: When did PCHAIN start?
Dr Jeff: The white paper was released at the end of March 2018, and the mainnet was launched on March 30, 2019. In less than a year, the main chain has generated more than 10 million blocks. Let’s take a specific example: Ethereum launched the mainnet in July 2015. Until this year, about 5 years already, the total block is 9 million.
Gate.io: Will it produce invalid information accumulation?
Dr Jeff: Yes, but there is a follow-up solution, which is SmartData-Intelligent Data Processing, which was released last year. It is scored on this framework. It is different from the simplest highest TPS. In the past, many blocks will be empty. Redundancy is even worthless, which will put a lot of pressure on the node disk. After the release of SmartData reduction, it successfully compressed 200G to 20G, which is almost 10 times compression. In theory, mobile phones can run on it. But because of some bandwidth requirements, the subsequent continuous evolution process, the ultimate goal is to make the nodes lighter and lighter and let more nodes access.
Gate.io: We are also mining at Pos nodes. Staking is hot in 2019, what do you think of Staking?
Dr Jeff: Halved, burning is also very hot this year. Why is burning important? I think it is related to Staking. Staking is naturally an inflation. There will be more and more tokens. Only burning will make the value continuously increase.
Gate.io: How did you consider this piece of PCHAIN?
Dr Jeff: We have such a mechanism for planning POS in the white paper, and we have always believed that it is leading the technology development trend in the industry. People who have read the PCHAIN white paper will understand that PCHAIN is also a halved token. Like Bitcoin, our mechanism is also halved in 4 years. This year is the second year. Second, the total amount is constant. How much Ethereum will issue on the original basis each year, and the newly mined Token on PCHAIN is limited to 15% of pos. If it cannot be mined already, the owner on the childchain can go to the market to buy Token and inject it into the childchain, so that the miners of the childchain have the motivation to continue mining. This is different from Bitcoin and Ethereum.
Gate.io: Users ask: When will the commercial childchain start?
Dr Jeff: First quarter. The most important part of the year 2020 plan is the commercial childchain. The commercial childchain project in the first quarter must be confirmed. Although the impact of the new coronavirus, we are still very confident and communication has been ongoing.
Gate.io: How many commercial childchains are expected to be in PCHAIN this year?
Dr Jeff: It’s hard to predict, but I can tell you that there are three childchains moving forward. Recently, there have been successive partners and domestic top software developers communicating. Because of the high incidence of blockchain applications this year, if they cooperate with large-scale software development, there may be a relatively explosive momentum.
Gate.io: What do you think of Staking?
Dr Jeff: Many of us still think from a technical point of view. POW has been for many years. The disadvantages of power consumption have been around for a long time, but the degree of decentralization is high. The future trend must be the large-scale application of the blockchain. This is a trend, and efficiency is very important. All projects are talking about POS. Staking is a derivative of the consensus mechanism. Only by holding the token in it will we focus on its security . Many early projects also exposed a lot of problems, which gradually reduced by half.
Gate.io: What are the shortcomings in the development process that need to be improved?
Dr Jeff: The shortcomings in the market are still relatively lacking. In 2018, our focus is all overseas, so the domestic voice is relatively small. After 2019, it has been developing and strengthening in the domestic market area, so that more people recognize PCHAIN.
Gate.io: I think we have our own wallet?
Dr Jeff: Yes, the current function can be staking, and a cross-chain transfer can be performed between the main chain and the childchain. Its basic positioning is a technology-oriented wallet, and the future plan is also in terms of technology. For example, quickly put some interesting applications (especially Ethereum) on PCHAIN, which is also a relatively important function. We are compatible with EVM of Ethereum. An Ethereum application developer can put it on PCHAIN with almost no code changes.
Gate.io: What other application scenarios does the blockchain have in addition to the cryptocurrency circle? How to balance speed and decentralization under safe conditions?
Dr Jeff: Impossible triangle of blockchain, security, efficiency and security, in a certain perspective, there is no solution. The fundamental problem of balance lies in whether the consensus algorithm itself is good enough. Our original new consensus algorithm is called PDBFT consensus algorithm. Last year, everyone talked more than BFT, VIF random numbers, and a BOS data compression, including the Cosmos overseas team said that BOS has been integrated, our PDBFT integrates these three factors together, let the communication volume from the square of N to N, the degree of decentralization has been improved while ensuring efficiency.
Gate.io: The current commercial childchain is Private Chain. How to connect to Public Chain?
Dr Jeff: Cross-chain. In the future, in addition to its own main chain and childchains, it can also cross other chains.
Gate.io: Why did you choose to be listed at Gate.io?
Dr Jeff: Gate.io is one of the few exchanges that is very consistent with our basic thinking and philosophy of work, including founder Mr. Han, who has been persistently committed to technology, and even we have studied technical details for several hours. We have also contacted the founders of many exchanges. There are not many people like founder Mr. Han who know every detail very well. Secondly, Gate.io has a good community foundation. I think Gate.io is also in the world TOP position, its transaction volume and non-wash trading order are very real, this is very consistent with the spiritual pursuit of the blockchain.
Gate.io: Our users ask you, how to reduce the number of communication handshake to maintain consistency? The current workload proofs are all based on Sha256. Is there any further progress?
Dr Jeff: The Sha256 workload proof belongs to POW’s consensus algorithm and belongs to an axiom proof. Based on this axiom, everyone agrees that its decentralization is very good. However, in all POS, the emphasis is on cooperative handshake, which cannot be reduced from the perspective of collaboration, but it can reduce the amount of information transmitted during the collaboration process. Example: The reduction of communication volume makes the amount of collaboration less. Through communication compression, a lot of people shaking hands at the same time also improve the efficiency.
Gate.io: If the user wants to know some information, in addition to the official website and public account, and where can I find the desired content on the domestic platform?
Dr Jeff: If you prefer technology, you can go to github to watch it. There have been 23 major and minor upgrades since the mainnet launch last year.
Gate.io: What are the main adjustments to the mainnet upgrade?
Dr Jeff: It’s mainly rewarding. It’s a small part of staking for optimization.
Gate.io: Can you talk about future plans?
Dr Jeff: In the future, the focus will be on the commercial childchain. In addition to this, SmartData will be more important. At present, it is relatively new. Like Oracle, it is also part of SmartData.
Gate.io: How many people are using the new commercial childchain?
Dr Jeff: Generally speaking, there were thousands of data on a commercial childchain last year.
Gate.io: Some of the businesses on PCHAIN are private chains. How can we get to the common chain in the future?
Dr Jeff: The commercial childchain itself has such a switch, uploading a part of the hash value to the public chain, and the user can operate it if he wants to open the switch, which depends on the consensus of these enterprises participating in the alliance chain.

Paris Climate Deal

(Whoever was involved wanted to at least appear to want world temperatures to decrease soon: Me, Ob, Ma, Xi, P etc. Trump cancelled it because he does not want world temperatures to decrease soon. He knows the world is burning and is a smart man, so logically, he must want these apocalyptic conditions to continue and even worsen. No country except China is on track.)

Q: Why does Trump and those around him explicitly oppose the logical plan to decrease global temperatures, stop the melting of the ice caps and the devastation being caused?
Q: Why do other leaders who appear to want world temperatres to decrease make decisions that do the opposite?

Iran nuclear Deal

(Whoever was involved wanted Iran to become more powerful on world stage: Merkel, Obama, Macron, Xi, P etc. Trump cancelled it because he does not want Iran - Home of Shia Islam - to become more powerful on the world stage.)

Traditional Fiat currencies

Western currencies are now worth a fraction of their previous value compared to years past, for example, when USA Dollar was pegged to Gold e.g. 1 dollar was worth 1 oUNce of gold. This is due to decisions by previous Western leaders / central banks to UNpeg their crrencies from gold, plus recent activities like quantitative easing i.e. when central banks just printed more money. They've been constantly dilting the value and legitimacy of their currency and borrowing huge sums on top of that increasing national debt. This will all rebalance at some point and when it does a dollar will be next to worthless.

Bitcoin is a new, unregulated form of currency popular with the criminal nderworld as the beneficial owners cannot be traced. It's creator is unknown. It is a digital currency which relies on the availability of internet access and electricity. you cannot withdraw it physicallyu as you can with cash. Bitcoin spiked hard previously drawing in many inexperienced speculators, who lost a lot of money. Its price has come down significantly since then. The Bitcoin price is known and followed worldwide by millions. If bitcoin owners forget their accoUNt's numeric key, they can never access their fnds again. Bitcoin numeric accoUNt keys can be guessed if a powerful enough computer is used e.g. quantum compter is used. Bitcoin can be slow to access and withdraw money, The speed is related to Usage; more users making transactions, slower it goes. Many people now consider Bitcoin a way to diversify in times of trouble in a similar way to gold, as there are a finite number of bitcoins.

In recent years countries have been repatriating their gold reserves i.e. bringing that physical gold back to their own country. Some countries have been buying gold in recent years; Russia, Germany, Lebanon and some have been selling; UK notably sold the majority of UK's gold reserves at rock bottom prices in the early 2000s.

51% attacks are morally justifiable

In this short post I want to set out my case for the moral justifiability of 51% attacks against proof of work cryptocurrencies. In the past, a 51% attack was a theoretical construct that most people didn´t seem to think would be practically achievable or lucrative. This has now changed, as hashpower can be rented on sites like Nicehash and Mining Rig Rentals for a few hours at a time. The attack delivers the attacker two prominent opportunities:
-You can orphan blocks of ¨legitimate¨ miners. This essentially means that whatever work was produced by legitimate miners during your attack became worthless. Mine a secret chain of two hours worth of blocks, release it and you orphaned 2 hours worth of blocks by your competitors. By the time most of the miners have noticed their blocks were orphaned in an attack, their nodes will have been automatically mining on your own chain for a while and it will be too late for them to do anything about it. The amount of money they lost would be equivalent to the amount you had to spend to produce your chain. Because mining is an industry with tight margins, the economic impact on these miners can be very big. The cost may be sufficient in case of a very long attack, to persuade them to quit their endeavor and get a real job.
-The more important opportunity is that you´re able to double spend your coins. This is potentially, incredibly lucrative. How lucrative it is tends to depend primarily on the inflation rate of a cryptocurrency. A low inflation rate means relatively little ¨work¨ is done to maintain the security of the system. A high inflation rate on the other hand, turns the cryptocurrency into a very poor long-term investment. As a consequence, most cryptocurrencies face declining inflation rates, that delay the problem of their ultimately unsustainability into the future. The bank of international settlements explains this issue here.
When it comes to the moral justification of a 51% attack, we first have to ask ourselves why proof of work is morally unjustifiable. There are two main reasons for this:
-Proof of work has an enormous environmental impact, that ensures future generations will have to deal with the dramatic consequences of climate change. There is no proper justification for this environmental impact, as it delivers no clear benefits over existing payment systems other than the ability to carry out morally unjustifiable actions like blackmail.
-Proof of work is fundamentally unsustainable, because of the economic burden it places on participants in cryptocurrency schemes. Cryptocurrencies can´t produce wealth out of thin air. The people who get rich from a cryptocurrency becomes rich, due to the fact that other people step in later. In this sense we´re dealing with a pyramid scheme, but the difference from regular pyramid schemes lies in the fact that huge sums of wealth are not merely redistributed, but destroyed, to sustain the scheme. The cost of the work to sustain the scheme is bigger than you might expect, because the reality is that relatively little money has entered bitcoin. JP Morgan claims that for the crypto assets at large, a fiat amplifier of 117.5 is present, as a purported $2 billion in net inflow pushed Bitcoin’s market capitalization from $15 billion to $250 billion. You have to consider that the Digiconomist estimates that $2.6 billion dollar leaves the Bitcoin scheme on an annual basis, in the form of mining costs to sustain Bitcoin. The vast majority of retail customers who entered this scheme ended up losing money from it. In some cases this lead to suicides.
The fact that proof of work is morally unjustifiable doesn´t directly lead to a moral justification for a 51% attack. After all a sane society would use government intervention to eliminate the decentralized ponzi schemes that are cryptocurrencies. There are a few things that need to be considered however:
-Governments have so far failed in their responsibility to address the cryptocurrency schemes. Instead you tend to see officials insist that proof of work might suck and most cryptocurrency is a scam, but ¨blockchain technology¨ will somehow change the world for the better. Most libertarians who saw these schemes emerge insisted that it´s stupid to participate in them because the government would eventually ban them and round up the people who participated in them. This didn´t happen because of the logistical difficulty of suppressing these schemes (anyone with an internet connection can set one up) as well as the fact that suppressing them would lend credence to the anti-government anarcho-capitalist ideology on which these schemes are based. Goverments might say ¨these schemes facilitate crime, ruin the environment and redistribute wealth from naive individuals to scammers¨, but anarcho-capitalists would insist that governments have grown so tyrannical that they want to ban you from exchanging numbers on computers.
-Because cryptocurrency is fundamentally an online social arrangement, governments have very limited influence over the phenomenon. Binance seeks to become a stateless organization, not subject to the jurisdiction of any particular government. Just as with regular money laundering and tax evasion that hides in small nations that can earn huge sums of money by facilitating these practises, governments are dependent on the actions of individuals to address these practices. Whistleblowers released the panama papers and the tax evasion by German individuals through Swiss bank accounts. Through such individuals, the phenomenon could be properly addressed. In a similar manner, cryptocurrency schemes will need to be addressed through the actions of individuals who recognize the damage these schemes cause to the fabric of society.
-The very nature of a 51% attack means that it primarily punishes those who set up and facilitate the cryptocurrency scheme in the first place. The miners who pollute our environment to satiate their own greed are bankrupted by the fact that their blocks are orphaned. The exchange operators are bankrupted due to double-spend attacks against the scams that they facilitate. When this happens, the cryptocurrency in question should lose value, which then destroys the incentive to devote huge sums of electricity to it.
Finally, there´s the question of whether 51% attacks are viable as a response to cryptocurrency. There´s the obvious problem you run into, that the biggest and oldest scams are the most difficult to shut down. In addition, cryptocurrencies that fell victim to an attack tend to move towards a checkpoint system. However, there are a few things that need to be considered here:
-51% attacks against small cryptocurrencies might not have a huge impact, but their benefit is nonetheless apparent. Most of the new scams don´t require participants to mine, instead the new schemes generally depend on ¨staking¨. If people had not engage in 51% attacks, the environmental impact would have been even bigger now.
-51% attacks against currencies that implement checkpointing are not impossible, if the checkpoints are decentrally produced. What happens in that case is a chain split, as long as the hostile chain is released at the right time. This would mean that different exchanges may get stuck on different forks, which would still allow people to double spend their cryptocurrency.
-There are other attacks that can be used against proof of work cryptocurrencies. The most important one is the block withholding attack. It´s possible for people who dislike a cryptocurrency to join a pool and to start mining. However, whenever the miner finds a valid solution that would produce a block, he fails to share the solution with the pool. This costs money for the pool operator, but it can be lucrative for the actor if he also operates a competing pool himself. In the best case it leads to miners moving to his pool, which then potentially allows him to execute a 51% attack against the cryptocurrency.
-It´s possible to put up a 51% attack bounty, allowing others to do the work for you. This works as following. You make transaction A : 100 bitcoin to exchange X, for a fee of 0.001 BTC. Once this transaction has been included in a block, you immediately broadcast a conflicting transaction with another node: You´ŕe sending those 100 bitcoin to your own wallet, but you´re also including a 50 bitcoin fee for the miners. The miners now have a strong incentive to disregard the valid chain and to start mining a new chain on an older block that can still include your conflicting transaction. Provided that pool operators are rational economic agents, they should grab the opportunity.
-Selfish mining in combination with a Sybil attack allows someone to eclipse the rest of the network, while controlling less than 51% of the hashrate. Your malicious nodes will simply refuse to propagante blocks of your competitors, thereby giving you more time to release your own block. Selfish mining will always be possible with 33% of the hashrate and as far as I can tell there are no pathways known currently to make the scheme impossible for people with 25% of the hashrate. This potentially makes a 51% attacks lucrative without having to carry out double-spend attacks against exchanges. Although double spending is a form of theft, it´s not clear to me whether a selfish mining attack would get you into legal trouble or not.

The dreaded 51% attack is a morally justifiable and potentially lucrative solution to the Nakamoto scheme.

IOTA and Tangle discussion/info, scam or not?

In the past weeks I heard a lot pros and cons about IOTA, many of them I believe were not true (I'll explain better). I would like to start a serious discussion about IOTA and help people to get into it. Before that I'll contribute with what I know, most things that I will say will have a source link providing some base content.
The pros and cons that I heard a lot is listed below, I'll discuss the items marked with *.

Many users claim that the network infinitely scales, that with more transactions on the network the faster it gets. This is not entirely true, that's why we are seeing the network getting congested (pending transactions) at the moment (12/2017).
The network is composed by full-nodes (stores all transactions), each full-node is capable of sending transactions direct to the tangle. An arbitrary user can set a light-node (do not store all transactions, therefore a reduced size), but as it does not stores all transactions and can't decide if there are conflicting transactions (and other stuff) it needs to connect to a full-node (bitifinex node for example) and then request for the full-node to send a transaction to the tangle. The full-node acts like a bridge for a light-node user, the quantity of transactions at the same time that a full-node can push to the tangle is limited by its brandwidth.
What happens at the moment is that there are few full-nodes, but more important than that is: the majority of users are connected to the same full-node basically. The full-node which is being used can't handle all the requested transactions by the light-nodes because of its brandwidth. If you are a light-node user and is experiencing slow transactions you need to manually select other node to get a better performance. Also, you need to verify that the minimum weight magnitude (difficulty of the Hashcash Proof of Work) is set to 14 at least.
The network seems to be fine and it scales, but the steps an user has to make/know are not friendly-user at all. It's necessary to understand that the technology envolved is relative new and still in early development. Do not buy iota if you haven't read about the technology, there is a high chance of you losing your tokens because of various reasons and it will be your own fault. You can learn more about how IOTA works here.
There are some upcoming solutions that will bring the user-experience to a new level, The UCL Wallet (expected to be released at this month, will talk about that soon and how it will help the network) and the Nelson CarrIOTA (this week) besides the official implementations to come in december.

We all know that currently (2017) IOTA depends on the coordinator because the network is still in its infancy and because of that it is considered centralized by the majority of users.
The coordinator are several full-nodes scattered across the world run by the IOTA foundation. It creates periodic Milestones (zero value transactions which reference valid transactions) which are validated by the entire network. The coordinator sets the general direction for the tangle growth. Every node verifies that the coordinator is not breaking consensus rules by creating iotas out of thin air or approving double-spendings, nodes only tells other nodes about transactions that are valid, if the Coordinator starts issuing bad Milestones, nodes will reject them.
The coordinator is optional since summer 2017, you can choose not implement it in your full-node, any talented programmer could replace Coo logic in IRI with Random Walk Monte Carlo logic and go without its milestones right now. A new kind of distributed coordinator is about to come and then, for the last, its completely removal. You can read more about the coordinator here and here.

Mining-Blockchain-based Cryptocurrencies

These are blockchain-based cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin) that has miners to guarantee its security. Satoshi Nakamoto states several times in the Bitcoin whitepaper that "The system is secure as long as honest nodes collectively control more CPU power than any cooperating group of attacker nodes". We can see in Blockchain.info that nowadays half of the total hashpower in Bitcoin is controlled by 3 companies (maybe only 1 in the future?). Users must trust that these companies will behave honestly and will not use its 50%> hashpower to attack the network eventually. With all that said it's reasonable to consider the IOTA network more decentralized (even with the coordinator) than any mining-blockchain-based cryptocurrency
You can see a comparison between DAG cryptocurrencies here

IOTA partnerships

Some partnerships of IOTA foundation with big companies were well known even when they were not officialy published. Some few examples of confirmed partnerships are listed below, others cofirmed partnerships can be seem in the link Partnerships with big companies at the pros section.
So what's up with all alarming in social media about IOTA Foundation faking partnerships with big companies like Microsoft and Cisco?
At Nov. 28th IOTA Foundation announced the Data Marketplace with 30+ companies participating. Basically it's a place for any entity sell data (huge applications, therefore many companies interested), at time of writing (11/12/2017) there is no API for common users, only companies in touch with IOTA Foundation can test it.
A quote from Omkar Naik (Microsoft worker) depicted on the Data Marketplace blog post gave an idea that Microsoft was in a direct partnership with IOTA. Several news websites started writing headlines "Microsoft and IOTA launches" (The same news site claimed latter that IOTA lied about partnership with Microsoft) when instead Microsoft was just one of the many participants of the Data Marketplace. Even though it's not a direct partnership, IOTA and Microsoft are in close touch as seen in IOTA Microsoft and Bosch meetup december 12th, Microsoft IOTA meetup in Paris 14th and Microsoft Azure adds 5 new Blockchain partners (may 2016). If you join the IOTA Slack channel you'll find out that there are many others big companies in close touch with IOTA like BMW, Tesla and other companies. This means that right now there are devs of IOTA working directly with scientists of these companies to help them integrate IOTA on their developments even though there is no direct partnership published, I'll talk more about the use cases soon.
We are excited to partner with IOTA foundation and proud to be associated with its new data marketplace initiative... - Omkar Naik

IOTA's use cases

Every cryptocurrency is capable of being a way to exchange goods, you pay for something using the coin token and receive the product. Some of them are more popular or have faster transactions or anonymity while others offers better scalablity or user-friendness. But none of them (except IOTA) are capable of transactioning information with no costs (fee-less transactions), in an securely form (MAM) and being sure that the network will not be harmed when it gets more adopted (scales). These characteristics open the gates for several real world applications, you probably might have heard of Big Data and how data is so important nowadays.
Data sets grow rapidly - in part because they are increasingly gathered by cheap and numerous information-sensing Internet of things devices such as mobile devices, aerial (remote sensing), software logs, cameras, microphones, radio-frequency identification (RFID) readers and wireless sensor networks.
It’s just the beginning of the data period. Data is going to be so important for human life in the future. So we are now just starting. We are a big data company, but compared to tomorrow, we are nothing. - Jack Ma (Alibaba)
There are enormous quantities of wasted data, often over 99% is lost to the void, that could potentially contain extremely valuable information if allowed to flow freely in data streams that create an open and decentralized data lake that is accessible to any compensating party. Some of the biggest corporations of the world are purely digital like Google, Facebook and Amazon. Data/information market will be huge in the future and that's why there so many companies interested in what IOTA can offer.
There are several real world use cases being developed at the moment, many of them if successful will revolutionize the world. You can check below a list of some of them.
These are just few examples, there are a lot more ongoing and to explore.

IOTA Wallet (v2.5.4 below)

For those who have read a lot about IOTA and know how it works the wallet is fine, but that's not the case for most users. Issues an user might face if decide to use the current wallet:
Problems that could be easily avoided with a better understand of the network/wallet or with a better wallet that could handle these issues. As I explained before, some problems during the "congestion" of the network could be simply resolved if stuff were more user-friendly, this causes many users storing their iotas on exchanges which is not safe either.
The upcoming (dec 2017) UCL Wallet will solve most of these problems. It will switch between nodes automatically and auto-reattach transactions for example (besides other things). You can have full a overview of it here and here. Also, the upcoming Nelson CarrIOTA will help on automatic peer discovery for users setup their nodes more easily.

IOTA Vulnerability issue

On sept 7th 2017 a team from MIT reported a cryptographic issue on the hash function Curl. You can see the full response of IOTA members below.
Funds were never in danger as such scenarios depicted on the Neha's blogpost were not pratically possible and the arguments used on the blogpost had'nt fundamentals, all the history you can check by yourself on the responses. Later it was discovered that the whole Neha Narula's team were envolved in other concurrent cryptocurrency projects
Currently IOTA uses the relatively hardware intensive NIST standard SHA-3/Keccak for crucial operations for maximal security. Curl is continuously being audited by more cryptographers and security experts. Recenlty IOTA Foundation hired Cybercrypt, the world leading lightweight cryptography and security company from Denmark to take the Curl cryptography to its next maturation phase.
It took me a couple of days to gather the informations presented, I wanted it to make easier for people who want to get into it. It might probably have some mistakes so please correct me if I said something wrong. Here are some useful links for the community.
This is my IOTA donation address, in case someone wants to donate I will be very thankful. I truly believe in this project's potential.
This is a donation address, if you want to do the same you might pay attention to some important details:
  • Create a seed for only donation purposes.
  • Generate a address and publish it for everyone.
  • If you spend any iota you must attach a new address to the tangle and refresh your donation address published before to everyone.
  • If someone sends iota to your previous donation address after you have spent from it you will probably lose the funds that were sent to that specific address.
  • You can visualize how addresses work in IOTA here and here.
This happens because IOTA uses Winternitz one-time signature to become quantum resistent. Every time you spend iota from a address, part of the private key of that specific address is revealed. This makes easier for attackers to steal that address balance. Attackers can search if an address has been reused on the tangle explorer and try to brute force the private key since they already know part of it.

XRP - The new reserve currency

We are amidst of the most exciting of times never seen before, at least in couple of generations. UBER, Amazon, Swiggy , Whatsapp and all other game changing technologies disrupting the respective industries for good. UBER is more valuable company than 100 years old automobile companies! So after all the important industries disrupted it was time for the King of industries to be disrupted.
To Understand money more better, we need to know the ROOT of new age money.
There was a time before 400 Years when people used gold as medium to exchange goods or services. People use to pawn their gold to a particular gold smith in German and use to get GDR(Gold Deposit Receipt) simply a receipt to redeem gold when needed, but as dealing with gold as medium was not much practically comfortable, people started to use the receipt(GDR) to buy and sell goods and services, as every one recognised and believed the receipt was backed by gold with known gold smith. Once it was popular and became a practice among people to use receipt as medium to exchange value, few smart lads started to create same kind of receipt, now this became a problem to people and gold smith, that’s when historic change happened not only did the goldsmith found a way to create receipts which were not easy to forge also he saw opportunity to create more receipts than the gold he held, that’s when RESERVE BANKING started and from there he perfected the art of balancing the number of receipts which did not create inflation at the same time enough receipts were available in market. The receipts are called as currency in modern days
Once they perfected the art of reserve banking, they with new found wealth and knowledge kept introducing Reserver Central Banks all over Europe and World with the help of England. England which colonized many countries was funded by the same bankers who made fortune with and Gold, Diamonds looted from world and introduction of LSE(London Stock Exchange).
In early 1900 as England was loosing control and USA being the next World power, these banker had to capture US financial system, with hook and crook(for inquisitive minds a few bread crumbs, sinking of titanic, brenton woods) they introduced Federal Reserve Bank in USA
World Wars
When the whole world was fighting, USA did not participate in those wars instead they choose to sell arms to all nations and strategically they accepted payments only in GOLD, so by end of two wars almost entire planets gold was with USA( Fort Knox).
After world war was over nations did not have gold to trade between nations but as every one knew US dollar was backed by gold so every nation started using dollar as international currency as part Brenton-Wood( 1944) agreement and that made USD very valuable. Slowly USA started to export inflation to other countries and one fine day they could print more USD as there was not enough GOLD to back their USD, so president Nixon did
“ unilateral cancellation of the direct international convertibility of the United States dollar to gold.” — 1971
which means no nation could convert USD to gold which was the underlying faith for nations to accept USD as international reserve currency. France started to question this move and followed by other nations. That’s when USA had to think of creative solution for this crisis.
OIL — The Black Gold and SWIFT
With help of Saudi Arabia(OPEC) USA had forged a deal where only Crude Oil would be sold in USD, the technology or payment rail was SWIFT. SWIFT used USD as underlying currency to transfer value between nations. So if some bank wanted to send money India to Japan they had to use SWIFT payment network which in turn converted INR-USD and from USD-JPY
SWIFT was founded in Brussels in>! 1973!<
Many countries tried to break the the reserve currency status of USD, but everytime it was not very successful and the countries which tried that had to face server retribution from USA, as USA had built a very powerful military-industrial complex through out the world.
Asian currency crisis
Thailand triggered the Asian financial crisis by delinking the baht from the US dollar. The Bank of Thailand cut the baht loose on 2 July 1997 after the currency , had been under sustained attack by speculators(Hedge Funds from USA and London). This crisis spread to Asia.
War on terror
When Iraq wanted to sell their oil in Euro by ditching USD, not only Saddam Hussain dreamt of it, he also went and commissioned a Oil Trade Exchange with high speed internet and he also had done pilot testing, that’s when September 11 attack happened and America had to go for War on terror and they believed Saddam had Weapon of Mass Destruction(WMD) and they destroyed him and his ambitions to trade in Euro
Leaders from Venezuela, Libya(Gaddafi) and Iran tried the same but ended up dead or wounded very badly
Petro Yuan
China has been watching this and they knew it was not easy to bring down USD as they ere the major holder of USD as foreign reserve and they would suffer very much, at the same time USA debt was increasing massively which means, logically USA could not pay interest for at least a century, so China started a long strategic move where they slowly replaced USD with Yuan like asking euro zone to accept Yuan, giving neighboring countries loans in Yuan and One Belt One Road(OBOR) initiative, finally declared PetroYuan which means Oil could be purchased in Yuan which was supported by Russia, Iran and Saudi.
USA could show their aggression as they did with other countries but as China is super power with Russia’s support so they could not use the old strategy.
But USA always had innovative way to handle dollar crisis
The innovative solution — Cryptocurrencies (Blockchain Technologies) or Bitcoin
In 2008, Bitcoin was invented and in over a decade it died many deaths but always came out strong. Cryptocurrency are not backed by anything but, only we all collectively believe and accept there is value in it. It’s non-mutable decentralized ledger where all the transactions are recorded and approved by major of the network participant. It’s not centralized like Bank where database can be hacked or brought down. After a decade the technology is now accepted widely and found some serious application in real world.
Bitcoin could not scale or live up to expectation to be today's currency as it is pathetically slow, high cost of transaction and nearing 51% problem as most of the miners are from China
XRP new world Currency?
Interestingly there’s a cryptocurrency which is decentralised but controlled by private entity and trying to solve real problem i.e sending money between countries seamless , real time, transparent and dirt cheap. It’s replacing SWIFT (The old payment rail for petrodollar). SWIFT was designed 40 years back, with SWIFT system trillions of dollars are stuck with banks doing nothing which will be released once Ripple replaces SWIFT. Already people in Japan and South Korea, Singapore, USA, Australia and UK have started to use XRP as payment method in day today transaction. XRP has the potential to be currency of every denizen of planet earth. Already central banks and monetary authorities tripping over each other to integrate ripple.
Ripple has wholistic solution to be a global liquidity provider and has been making right moves with IMF, World Bank, Central Banks, Authorities and regulators through the world and slowly and steadily it's progress is on course.
XRP is set to become the new world order international currency. At last, money is changing and will change so fast that you will even not realize that every thing change as it happened with photography.
Future is not seen with eyes but an inquisitive mind.
